MINIATURE RIFLES CLOSING OF SEASON. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Martinborough Miniature Rifle Club brought the season to a close with a match, President’s team versus Captain’s team, which resulted in the latter team winning. The scores were as follows: —President’s team: D. Flynn 69, S. Harvey 66, Mrs Wilson 67. S. Davidson 67, Miss Howatt 53, I. Howatt 66, E. Fiest 64, Miss Smith 65, N. Prussing 64, C. Skill, Jnr. 64, D. Fraser 63, J. Turner 64, J. Findlay 36. Mrs Davidson 67; total, 875. Captain’s team: Miss Broughton 70, E. Findlay 69, W. George 65, Mrs Boyd 61, W. Bain 70, R. Amos 63, R. Lord 68, F. Brasell 64. S. Green 65, V. Amos 66, C. Chapman 66, G. Rowlands 66. P. Gray 53, M. Marflitt 61; total, 907. After the two teams had finished shooting, supper was served for which Mr S. Harvey thanked the ladies. He also congratulated the Captain’s team on their win. Colin Chapman won the September consolation prize. At a general meeting arrangements were made for the annual ball which is to be held on November 14, when the trophies won during the season will be preesnted to the winners. Personal Items. Mrs Holdsworth, of Wellington, has returned home, having been the guest of her sister, Mrs G. Brasell, Junr. Miss Connie Kent, who has been staying with Mrs N. Lundon, returned to Pongaroa today, where she will carry out relieving duties at the Pongaroa Hospital.
