GOLF SEASON CLOSED PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. Saturday last was the final day of the Carterton Golf Club competitions and as a result there was a large attendance of members, a most enjoyable afternoon being spent. A mixed foursome and medal round was played which ended in a win for Mrs C. K. Goodin and A. Krahagen. At the conclusion of play afternoon tea was served. The president, Mr Geo Brown, in his usual genial manner, re • ferred to the season as being a particularly favourable and interesting one insofar as the club was concerned. Many competitions had been played and the standard of play generally had shown an improvement. Some close and interesting games had resulted. He paid a tribut.e to the work of the committees during the year who had worked with a will for the general benefit of the club and everything had run very smoothly throughout. He thanked the ladies for providing afternoon tea during the season which was at all times welcome and greatly appreciated. Mr Brown referred in eulogistic terms to the caretaker’s work, for without his able assistance and the splendid way in which the greens were kept the standard of play-could not have been so good. In conclusion he trusted all had enjoyed the season’s play and that next year they would come back in force and achieve even better results. Mr Brown then called upon Mrs W.
