KNOX CHURCH
LADIES’ GUILD.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent by the members of Knox Ladies’ Guild on Wednesday when they met at the residence of Mrs Ractliffe, York Street, Masterton. For the last few months, evening socials have taken the place of afternoon meetings, and although these have been very successful, yet the bright sunshine and the pleasant out-, door conditions that prevailed on Wednesday added much to the enjoyment of the gathering. After a few items of business had been dealt with, members adjourned to the garden where afternoon tea was served. A croquet competition was held and was won by Mrs Dickel. A “Bring and Buy” stall was successfully conducted by Mrs Welch.
In the absence of Mrs Morice, Mrs W. Kerry thanked Mrs Ractliffe for making it possible for the Guild to meet in such pleasant surroundings. She also expressed the Guild’s thanks to Mesdames Ractliffe and Henderson for acting as hostesses for the afternoon.
