CHURCH SERVICES
' The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow, at 8 a.m. The Rev. T. V. Pearson will preach at 11 a.m., and the vicar at 7 p.m. The usual services will be held at Kuripuni, Taueru, Rangitumau and Kopuaranga. The Baptist Fellowship, which will meet on Sunday morning at 11 o’clock in the Y.M.C.A., has secured the services of Student Pastor Lonsdale, of the New Zealand Baptist College, for the ensuing three months. Mr Lonsdale will reside in Masterton, and expects to assist considerably in extending the work of the Fellowship with the co-op-eration of the members. A social gathering to welcome Mr Lonsdale has been arranged for tonight, and an invitation is extended to any who may be interested to attend at the Y.M.C.A. at 7.30 o’clock. The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Major Mahaffie. In the morning service the Major will take for his subject. “Back to the Cross.”' This will be a timely message for all Christians. In the evening service the Major’s subject will be, “It Pays To Be Sure,” a message for these times of ' uncertainty. All are heartily invited to the Army's bright and happy services. The great service for men which is an annual' feature in the Masterton Methodist Church, will take place on Sunday evening. The men of the church will form a special male choir under the baton of Mr S. H. Ralph and will lead the choral praise, while the Rev Fred J. Parker will be the preacher and he will have the assistance of the officers of the Men’s Fellowship in the conduct of the service. Mr Parker’s special subject for the men is: ‘'What is Patriotism?” Both men and women are heartily invited to this special service. The morningservice in the church will be conducted by Mr F. G. Rutter. At the Kuripuni Methodist Church tomorrow the morning service will be conducted by the Rev H. E. Harkness, M.A., and at night the usual car service will be available to convey worshippers to the town church. The Te Ore Ore Maori Methodist Sunday School will celebrate their anniversary tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. with a special service conducted by the Rev Fred J. Parker. On account of the loss by fire of the meeting house, the service will be held in the Te Orc Orc public school by courtesy of the school committee. Cars will leave the town church at 2.45 p.m. At the Methodist Church service tomorrow at Mt Bruce at 2 p.m. the Rev Fred J. Parker will be the .preacher. The services at Knox Church. Masterton, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and at Matahiwi at 2 p.m.. will be taken by Mr C. Webster. B.A. Tomorrow is Young People’s Day in the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. and at Lansdowne there will be special services for children in the morning, and young people in the evening. The Presbyterian Church has 711 Sunday schools, with 4088 teachers and 33,343 scholars. It has 1100 Bible classes, with 6370 men members and 7551 women members.
