OCEAN FREIGHTS
ALL-ROUND INCREASE OF 50 PER CENT. TAKING IMMEDIATE EFFECT. (By Telegraph—Press Association J WELLINGTON. This Day. The Associated Overseas Lines in the New Zealand trade have been advised from London that all homeward freights on both refrigerated and general cargo are advanced by 50 per cent instead of 25 per cent. These rates applj' forthwith; but a vessel which is already loading shall charge existing rates for all cargo being shipped at her present loading port; and the increased rates as advised above will apply at. her subsequent loading ports. It was announced on September 11 that all homeward shipping freights had been increased by 25 per cent.
