THE AMERICAN BUDGET LARGEST IN PEACE TIME HISTORY. ADDITIONAL BUILDING PROGRAMME. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. NEW YORK. October 11. The Washington correspondent of the "New York Times” says Ihe 1941 naval budget submitted to the Budget Bureau for approval may exceed 900,000,000 dollars and certainly is the largest in peace time history. It is reliably reported that it includes 350.000,000 dollars for the construction of new ships, probably two 45,(lOO-tori battleships, from four to eight howtype cruisers and at least eight destroyers and eight submarines.
