METHODIST CHURCH

LADIES’ GUILD MEETING. INTERESTING ADDRESS. The monthly meeting of the Methodist Ladies’ Social Guild was held at the residence of Mrs F. J. Parker, Lincoln Road, Mrs Parker presiding over a good attendance of members. The main business of the meeting was the finalising of arrangements for the “Hostess Evening,” which is to be held on October 25. A splendid programme has been arranged, and it is hoped the “Hostess Evening” will be an outstanding success. The speaker for the afternoon was the Rev F. J. Parker, who gave a very interesting and informative talk on his experiences of broadcasting in the Children’s Hour at IYA. At the close of his address, Miss V. Jackson moved a vote of thanks to Mr Parker for his very enjoyable address. The motion being carried by acclamation. Mrs W. J. H. Watson played pianoforte solos and Miss V. Jackson sang, both items being much appreciated by the ladies. The pronouncing of the Benediction brought the meeting to a close.
