A. steamer, without flags, apparently the Havelland (6334 tons) disguised, was sighted off Cape Velas on the Pacific Coast, lending credence to the belief that, she may have turned raider or is preparing to fuel submarines. The Havelland, which belong to the Hamburg-Amerika Line, left the Chilean port, Punta Arenas, on Sunday with 62,000 gallons of Diesel oil aboard. CHILEAN PATROL DESTROYER ESCORTS BRITISH LINER. VALPARAISO, October 11. The Chilean navy today began patrolling the neutrality zone. A destroyer picked up a British liner and accompanied her to Valparaiso. The escort implied that in the event of the liner being attacked the destroyer would come to her defence.
