WAR CONTRIBUTION

GOOD PACE OF RECRUITING IN ULSTER. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. October 10. Ulster’s contribution to the Empire war effort was referred to by the Prime Minister. Lord Craigavon, in the Ulster House of Commons today. He said that the recruiting for the three services was progressing very favourably, and recruiting centres had been established in Belfast, Omagh, Londonderry, and Enniskillen. During September the regular units had attained the full number required, while the third anti aircraft brigade was being recruited so strongly that it was hoped it would be at full strength within another month.

The number of people in Ulster who were now enrolled for national service exceeded 25 000 and applications were coming in at the rate of 2000 a week.
