REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE

DUPLICATED BY CARLSON. Richard Carlson, who made an impressive screen debut as Janet Gaynor’s dour fiance in “The Young in Heart,” duplicates a real life experience in his role as a young college professor in Walter Wanger’s “Winter Carnival,” in which he is co-starred with Ann Sheridan. Carlson became an English teacher at the University of Minnesota after winning a seholarshiji and his diploma at that school. The scholarship money was invested in a theatre which failed. The next step was an unsuccessful try at Hollywood. A New York stage engagement finally resulted in Carlson getting a long term screen contract.
