TRAGIC ACCIDENT

MAORI CHILD FALLS FROM LADDER. SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES RESULT IN DEATH. Falling heavily early yesterday afternoon from a ladder which was found set against a tankstand at his parents’ home, a Maori child, Warren Paku, aged three years and seven months, the son of Mr and Mrs Horina Paku, Orui, suffered serious head injuries which resulted in his death in the Masterton Hospital at about 4.30 p.m. When found the child was unconscious. He was rushed immediately to the hospital but efforts to save his life proved futile. An inquest will be opened this afternoon.
