GREYTOWN
TRUST LANDS TRUST MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Trust Lands Trust was held last night. There were present: Messrs H. G. Carter (chairman), F. Dennes, J. W. Barnard, W. H. Day. H. Walden. H. J. Nightingale and the secretary (Mr B. Kiernan). The tender of Messrs Howell was accepted for painting of a trust house. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £25.
One rate demand was held over as improvements had been removed from the property. Mr Walden was appointed supervisor of the painting. The action of the chairman in letting vacant sections was confirmed.
ST. LUKE’S CHURCH
LADIES’ GUILD.
The monthly meeting of the St. Luke’s Ladies’ Guild was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. Mrs A. York presided over a splendid attendance.
A vote of thanks was accorded to the promoters of the social held on Monday last.
Canon Sykes reminded members that St. Luke’s Patronal Festival would be held on October 18.
Mrs Everett was appointed to control the letting of the Parish Hall. It was also agreed that the afternoon teas be perfectly plain. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Duff, Shedden and Miss Stephens. The meeting closed with the proonuncing of the Benediction. RED CROSS SOCIETY FIRST AID CLASSES.
The local branch of the Red Cross Society is at present holding first aid classes for seniors and juniors.
