TIN HARE RACING

ATTRACTIONS AT SOLWAY TOMORROW.

Tomorrow afternoon at the Solway showgrounds the opening tin hare meeting of the season will be held. The programme' during the day is a large one. Six races are scheduled besides a consolation race and supplementary puppy race for all puppies under twelve months. The latter events are post entry. With heats for each race, there will be in the vicinity of 20 events. In the maiden hurdles two local dogs should fight out the finish, Golden King and White Legion. The former dog is a fast hurdler. Although White Legion lacks pace he is a sure jumper, and may carry the day in a closely contested race.

The open hurdles looks like a victory for Prideaway. winner of the Wairarapa championship at the close of the season last year, although in a hurdle event anything may happen, and there are other good competitions to be reckoned with. One of the largest fields of the day, the A. and P. maiden, has some good quality dogs running in The Clipper, Helen Rufus, Snowdrift, and Flying Joe. These dogs are all proved plumpton competitors, and it will be interesting to see if they can perform as well on the track. The first race is time to start at. 2 o'clock.
