The “Allgemeine Zeitung” says light German warships went to sea last week to damage Britain economically and correct the false idea of neutral shippers that Britain’s sea power could protect them. SWEDISH VESSEL SEIZED (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) STOCKHOLM. October 4. A German warship seized the Swedish ship Korsholm, from Finland to Delaware with wood pulp and paper, and took her to a German port. NORWAY WARNED SHIPPING AND U BOATS. (Received This Day. 10.20 a.m.) OSLO. October 4. Germany has sent a note to Norway warning shipping against suspicious actions in the vicinity of U-Boats. U.S.A. ATTITUDE KEEPING OUT OF WAR ZONES. (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) WASHINGTON. October 4. Mr Cordell Hull (Secretary of State) asserted that the United States doos not recognise the legality of unrestricted interference with American ships and commerce, but he reiterated his warning to American vessels to stay out of war zones.
