CHANTILLY MUSEUM

The palace of Chantilly has been enriched by one of the most magnificent gifts of recent times. No fewer than fifty-two portraits by Clouet, by Corneille de Lyon, Pourbus, Rubens and other painters have been presented to the museum by Viscountess de Poncins. Chantilly already possesses 363 drawings by Clouet, forming the finest collection of this artist’s works. In addition to the paintings, Viscountess de Poncins has also given about a hundred rare volumes and a number of ancient documents concerning the family of Montmorency.
