S.M. COURT
SITTING AT CARTERTON. CIVIL AND POLICE CASES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly sitting of the Carterton S.M. Court was held yesterday afternoon before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., when the following cases were dealt with: — Judgment by default was given in the following cases:—Watson and Co v E. R. Young, claim £7 13s 9d, court costs 15s, solicitor’s fee 15s Cd; Wairarapa Electric Power Board v P. R. Gill, claim £6 14s 9d. court costs 15s solicitor 15s Gd: J. Flemming v T. P. Strang, claim £54 17s and possession of house within 14 days.
Ann PhiUpotts proceeded against H. D. Taylor for possession of a house but was non-suited with solicitor’s fee £1 Is. Leonard Waller Nimodt was fined £1 and costs 10s for having procured liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. A. V. Stevens, for having used a wireless set and not being the holder of a license, was fined £1 and 10s costs. George Lindsay James and P. L. Darke for similar offences were fined £2 and costs 10s, and 10s and 10s costs, respectively.
A prohibition order on a personal, application was issued against a resident.
