The representative of the “New York Times” in Buenos Aires says Germany is fighting a propaganda war in South America as efficiently and ruthlessly as her military campaign in Poland. Britain and the ‘United States are Germany’s bitter enemies in this campaign. Newspapers are carrying a German news service give the impression that Germany is already at war against the United States, and that the United States is a more bitter enemy than Britain. The propaganda claims that Britain and the United States are undermining civilisation, peace and prosperity, Britain throughout Europe and the United States throughout Latin America.
It points out Germany’s .care for the situation in Europe and urges the Latin American countries to be ready against the machinations of the United States, intimating that Germany would help to protect their civilisation, just as it was saving Europe’s. A German news service is establishing a large bureau in Montevideo to distribute 20,000 to 30 000 words daily throughout South America.
