MILITARY PLANS

CONSULTATION IN PARIS PREMIER AND WAR CHIEFS. REPORTED OFFENSIVE PREPARATIONS. By Telegraph—P--ss Association —Copyright LONDON, October 1. A Paris message says yesterday’s conference between M Daladier and his war chiefs, including Marshal Georges, who commands the RhineMoselle front, is regarded as of military importance. The question why Marshal Gamelin took no advantage of Germany’s preoccupation in Poland to launch a great attack in the west is answered by the fact that he has taken full advantage of the past weeks to bring his army into a perfect offensive and defensive position with every necessary at his immediate disposal. This has been completed, for which reason offensive manoeuvres are now most likely.
