The second two of 30 new general utility J-class locomotives ordered from Scotland by the Railways Department are now at Auckland and will be shipped to Wellington. The afternoon express and the limited express . to Wellington, which have for some time been drawn by the large K-class engines, will be hauled part of the way by this type of locomotive, which is streamlined and has a torpedo-shap-ed boiler front. Ten of the 30 new locomotives will be used in the Auckland district, 10 in the Frankton aiei and the remainder in the Taumarunui district.
