Eleven started, including The Trump and Am • iable. Head; half a head. Time, 1.37*;. Tullamarine Handicap, L’m: Maikai 7.9 (Mornement) 1; Maluno. 8.3 (Dewhurst) 2; Rivette, 8.4 (Heather) 3. Ten started, including Elanage and the Caulfield Cup favourite, Pure Gold, who finished last, and Elanage second to last. Three-quarters of a length: nebk. Time. 2.4. The New Zealand-bred colt, Grand Tour, who was heavily supported in the Merri Trial Handicap, finished near the rear of the field and disgraced him - self. The hurdler Trentwood fell and broke his neck. The Lindsay Gordon Steeplechase was won by Niello, from Lacus and Inazuma. DOOMBEN HANDICAP WON BY BROWN FORCE. BRISBANE. October 1.
