SPRING FLOWERS

EXHIBITION AT CARTERTON. BY WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Garden Circle of the Carterton Women’s Institute held a very successful exhibition of spring flowers and decorative work in Miss O. W. Wolter’s rooms, Belvedere Street, Carterton, oh Thursday afternoon. There was a large attendance and the display of beautiful spring flowers was a credit to those who came forward with exhibits. The work of the judges, Mr E. H. Hawker, who had charge of cut blooms, and Mrs Tankersley (decorative exhibits), had a hard task in making their awards as the entries were a very even lot. Mrs A. F. Pink, the convenor, presided, and congratulated the members on the very fine display they had made., The results are as follow:— Two bulbs, different: Mrs H. Keenan 1, Mrs A. F. Pink 2, Mrs S. Knutson 3. Two Iceland poppies: Mrs C. Tinsley 1. Mrs W. J. Candy 2, Mrs W. P. Williams 3. Two polyanthus: Mrs W. P. Williams 1, Mrs H. G. Hughan 2, Mrs S. Rooney 3. Two violas: Mrs C. Tinsley 1, Mrs J. Harris 2, Mrs W. J. Candy 3. Two anemones: Mrs W. J. Candy 1, Mrs J. Harris 2, Mrs W. P. Williams 3. Collection cut blooms, 3 varieties: Mrs E. H. Hawker 1, Mrs H. G.
