DETAILS OF INCREASES RAISING ADDITIONAL REVENUE FOR WAR PURPOSES. MANY ADJUSTMENTS MADE. (By Telegraph.) (Special to “Times-Age.”) WELLINGTON, This Day. Following upon the announcement of the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, in the House of Representatives on Tues-, day night of a decision to increase let-' ter postage as a means of raising additional revenue for war purposes, and Mr Nash’s statement that there would be some adjustment of other rates, the Postmaster-General, Mr Jones, yesterday announced particulars of the general increases that would apply from October 1. Commenting on the increases, the Minister said that the public might not be aware that the post, telegraph and telephone rates they enjoyed in New Zealand were in many instances the lowest in the world.
