MARTINBOROUGH
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION DANCE AND EUCHRE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Home and School Association held a dance and euchre party last night. Te Tau’s orchestra supplied the music and Miss N. Trussing kindly played an extra. Mr C. McCardle was M.C. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss I. Davidson and partner. The euchre winners were:—Ladies: Mrs Wilson, 1; Mrs McCardle, 2. Men: Mr Greeks 1, and S. McCarthy 2. The proceeds of the dance are to be shared between the two Queen Carnival candidates. Personal Items., Miss P. Cotter is spending her annual holiday in Tauranga. Mrs Everett returned to Tauranga today after having been the guest of Mrs H. Hardinge, Naples Street. Captain Coutts has left Martinborough for Trentham where he had to report for duty. Mr A. Whiting, who has been on the staff of the local Post Office for several months, left this week for Trentham where he has been transferred. Mr R. Ingram, who has been on the staff of Messrs Pain and Kershaw, has left for his home in Palmerston, where he will be staying for some days before reporting for duty at Trentham next Tuesday. He was presented with a shaving outfit from the rest of the staff at the shop.
