WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

OPAKI MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Opaki Women’s Institute was held recently when Mrs Wingate presided over a fair attendance of members. A most interesting travel talk was given by Mrs W. McKay on the historic places of England and Scotland, being illustrated by many beautiful pictures. Miss lorns was appointed voting delegate to the Federation meeting to be held in Martinborough in October. The competitions resulted as follow: —Vase of spring flowers, Mrs Rayner 1 and 2, Mrs Buick and Mrs J. Wyeth, equal, 3. Decorated small cakes, Mrs N. Wyeth 1, Mrs Rayner 2, Mrs Harris and Miss Rollo, equal, 3. The next meeting will be held- at the home of Mrs Adcock, Opaki Road, Lansdowne, on October 5.
