ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS

LOYAL MASTERTON LODGE. FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. At the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Masterton Lodge N.G. Bro L. P. Morris presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from P.G.’s Bros Baikie and Torrance, V.G. Bro Reynolds, and Sisters Prout, Davey and Morris. The secretary’s action in forwarding a letter of recommendation to Bro J. R. Wilkin to enable him to visit lodges in the district where he is now residing was confirmed. Accounts, covering sick pay, management and social, totalling £24 13s Bd, were passed for payment. An invitation was received from members of Stonehenge Druids’ Lodge to a return game of indoor bowls on Monday night next at 8.30 o’clock and was with a great deal of pleasure accepted. P.G. Bro E. J. Mooney gave a report on the Odd Fellows’ Cricket Club annual meeting held on Thursday evening last, which showed the club to have had a most enjoyable and successful season. Members congratulated the team on their past season's per-formance,-stating that everything augured well for the coming season. The club was complimented on its sound financial position.

A report was received in connection with the recent dance which proved to be socially and financially a great success. The social secretary, P.G. Brc W. A. Palmer, announced that the next monthly gathering would be held at the Masonic Hall on Saturday, Octobei 14, and extended a cordial invitation tc members to be present. . The secretary of the Wairarapa P.G.’s Lodge notified that the Lodge officers would be examined in ritual on Monday, October 23. It was resolved, on the motion of P.D.G.M. Bro J. H. Langley, seconded by Sister L. Rickards, that lodge meetings open at 8 o’clock while summer time is in operation. Members subsequently participated in a game of indoor bowls. The lodge sisters kindly provided a dainty supper. ■
