STAFF FAREWELL
SERGEANT G. C. GAZE GOING INTO CAMP. “TIMES-AGE” GATHERING. Members of the staff of the "TimesAge” gathered this morning to bid farewell to Sergeant G. C. Gaze, a member of the advertising staff, who leaves for Trentham tomorrow to commence training in the Special Military Force. “I am sure that in expressing the wish for a minimum of hardship and early return of our valiant friend I am voicing the sentiments of the entire staff,” said Mr D. M. Graham, general manager. Mr Graham went on to refer to the excellent work Mr Gaze had done as a member of the staff and presented him with a wallet from his fellow workers and with a cheque, from the firm in appreciation of his services. Messrs E. J. Brown, business manager, and J. D. Baybutt, advertising manager, endorsed Mr Graham’s remarks. In acknowledging the sentiments expressed by the speakers, Mr Gaze stated that his association with the "TimesAge” had been a happy one. “Never have I worked under better departmental heads or with a better stall.” he said, “and I can assure you that 1 will always have the most pleasant recollections of my connection with the ‘Times-Age.’ ”
