FEILDING SALE. KEEN DEMAND WITH FIRM PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, This Day. With a keen demand for practically all stock, prices were flrm at the Feilding sale, held yesterday, values consolidating at last week’s levels. Fat sheep:—Competition was well up to last week’s, all supplies were soon sold on a strong market. Extra prime wethers made 29s 4d to 29s 6d, second grade, 26s 3d to 27s 6d, lighter 22s 6d to 255; prime hoggets, 24s 9d to 27s 3d, average quality 21s lOd to 225, unfinished 17s 6d to 18s, extra prime ewes, 24s 6d to 275, second quality 23s 6d to 23s 9d, light 19s 2d to 21s lOd, unfinished 12s to 18s 6d. Store sheep: The peak values were not up to those of last week, but average sorts sold at about the same level. Best ewe hoggets made 27s 6d to 29s 2d, good 25s to 275, smaller 20s to 24s 3d, inferior 13s 7d to 19s 6d; good wether hoggets 17s 3d to 18s 9d, second grade 14s lOd to 16s Bd, inferior 10s 7d, small 12s lOd; shorn two-tooth wethers, 12s. Store cattle: Prices were firm. Good two-year A.A. steers made £6 to £6 12s 6d, smaller £5 2s to £5 17s 6d; yearling A.A. steers, £3 7s 6d to £5; thee-year forward-conditioned A.A. steers, £10; good two-year- Hereford steers, £6 7s to £7 12s; small yearling A.A. heifers, £2 15s; yearling Hereford steers, best £3 2s to £3 18s, others £2 8s to £3; empty Hereford heifers, £5 10s. Fat cattle: A strong demand for beef set in, with prices of up to £2 a 1001 b. for the best cow beef being fully maintained. Dairy cattle The market was not as strong as last week for the dairy stock but the best sorts were well up to reserve figures. Pigs A heavier entry of pigs made good values. Small weaners made 8s to 14s, good 17s 6d to 19s 6d; slips 22s 6d; stores, best 27s 6d to 31s 6d; small porkers 33s 6d to 35s 6d. CARTERTON SALE. SHEEP AND CATTLE IN DEMAND. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —A large yarding of pigs and sheep came forward and a medium yarding of cattle. Pigs showed a slight decline on last week, sheep and cattle selling freely at late rates. Realisations were as follow:— Sheep: Fat ewes, 18s 3d, 20s Id, 21s to 225; fat b.f’s., 23s 3d to 23s 6d; fat hoggets, 19s 6d, 22s 7d to 245; fat wethers, 26s to 28s: medium ewe hoggets, to 15s 9d; medium wether hoggets, 13s Id to 15s 6d; b.f. hoggets, to 14s lOd; woolly wether hoggets, 17s 3d, 18s to 18s 3d; ewes with lambs at foot (all counted), 8s to 11s. Cattle: Jersey heifers on drop, £B, £9 15s, £lO to £lO ss; springing Jersey heifers, £5 7s 6d to £6 10s; Jersey cows on drop, £lO to £ll ss; springing Jersey cows, £6 to £8 10s; fat cows, £4 13s to £5 19s; forward cows, £2 10s to £3 15s; store cows, 30s to £2 6s; cull cows, 10s to 255; 2-year empty heifers, to £4; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 16s to £4; yearling Jersey heifers (small), 22s 6d to £4 Is. Pigs: Weaners (good), 20s to 245; weaners (medium), ,17s to 19s 6d; weaners (small), 12s 6d to 16s 6d; slips, 21s to 255; store pigs, 28s to 345; light porkers, 35s to 395; porkers, £2 to £2 12s; baconers, £3 4s to £3 15s.
