LADIES’ GOLF
MANAWATU CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY MISS DUNCAN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.. September 22. The finals of the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club’s tournament played today in perfect conditions, resulted in Miss J. Duncan (Wanganui) beating Miss C. Wison (Rangitikei) for the championship title, previously held by the former Wanganui and Tasman Cup player, Miss P. Helean, who is now in Hastings. In the Hokowhitu Plate, the New Zealand champion, Miss S. Collins, a noted Wairarapa player, conceding 10 strokes, lost to Mrs C. Anderson (Manawatu). Mrs D. V. Stewart (Manawatu) won the Ekstedt Cup from the Masterton player, Mrs T. Horner, and the Manawatu Handicap was won by Miss Kilgour Carter (Rangitikei) from Mrs T. Buxton (Manawatu).
