SURPRISE INSPECTION MADE BY KING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, September 20. A communique issued by the Ministry of Information says his Majesty paid a surprise visit to troops training in the West of England. He saw an infantry battalian which had been engaged in digging trenches. Many were sleeping soundly at the bottom of the trenches after all-night duty. Another battalion was on a route march and halted for the King to inspect them. Everywhere he went he expressed satisfaction with the excellent morale and general health of the officers and men. Touring a very wide area, x his Majesty shook hands and chatted With many hundreds of them. Accompanied by {wo generals and a party of aides-de-camp, he visited in turn all the units which go to make up a modern infantry division.
