GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS THE TITLE WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The 1939 championships were concluded on Saturday last when Miss M. Taylor defeated Mrs Nitz and W. Kummer defeated H. Paku for the respective honours. This is the fourth occasion on which Miss M. Taylor has succeeded in winning the title in five years. Mr W. Kuummer has also won the men's championship four times in the same period. On the next playing day (September 24) the competition for the trophies, combined with a stableford, will be played. The draw will be posted in the club-house. ANNUAL BALL. It has been decided to hold the annual ball on Saturday, September 30. It will be remembered that this function was postponed from September f on account of the unsettled conditions which prevailed at that time. Invitation holders and others will be pleased to learn that the ball has not been altogether abandoned. It is the most popular function held during the year. Personal. Mr S. Gray, of Land’s End, has received word that his son Lloyd has enlisted and has been accepted for service anywhere.
