WOMEN’S DIVISION BABY CARNIVAL. (“Times-Age” Special.) The committees in the Women’s division rest room carnival are working hard in the interest of their respective candidates. As the closing time draws nearer the position of the head of the poll constantly changes. Last week the Belvedere baby topped the list with over 8000 votes. Today Parkvale baby is leading by 895 votes. The positions are:— Parkvale (Dorothy Rayner), 9324. Belvedere-Taratahi (John Corbett), 8429. Dalefield (Dermot Fitzgerald), 7415. FOOTBALL MATCH REDMOND CUP FINAL. It is unfortunate that the final match for the Redmond Cup between Carterton and Gladstone is to be played on Saturday next because many supporters will be away in Wellington at the North-South Island game. The contest promises to be a keenly fought one. , J TARATAHI GOLF LINKS NO PLAY ON SATURDAY. Owing to the annual bulb day at Middle Run, Gladstone, on Saturday, there will be no golf competitions on the Taratahi links on Saturday. This applies to both the ladies* and men’s clubs. However, those who go to the links will arrange their own partners and the afternoon tea arrangements will be in charge of Miss Stevens and Mrs Forbes. BOY SCOUTS ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY. The Boy Scout card party held in the Band Room last evening was not, owing to other attractions, as well patronised as usual. The prizes were won as follows: —Ladies, Mrs M. Parker 1, Mrs C. Meyrick 2. Men, Mi’ J. Colman 1, Mr P. Hodder 2. Supper was afterwards provided. I Personal, i Mr E. H. Smith, manager of Hannah and Co’s boot establishment, who has been on annual leave, has returned to Carterton after a very pleasant holiday. Among the list of casualties on the Western Front appears the name of Flying Officer Hull. The deceased was a son of Mr Frank Hull, at one time manager of the Bank of New South Wales, Carterton.
