INTER=HOUSE ASSOCIATION
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. SPORTS MEETING IN NOVEMBER. At a meeting of the Executive of the Wairarapa Inter-House Association, held last night, preliminary arrangements were made for holding the annual sports day on Saturday, November 25. Application has been made to the Borough Council for use of Masterton Park on that day and for the use of the Municipal Hall at night, on the occasion of the annual dance. Mr C. E. Rogers, despite added work due to recruiting and Territorial''training, it was reported, had again generously consented to draw up details of a drill and marching programme and to train leaders and coaches of all teams in the various sections of the competitions. This year, in addition to the usual marching and drill items, the programme will probably include stick drill and if'Tvir Rogers can arrange it, a special display of stick drill by a Territorial squad will be given. It was reported that most of last year’s teams would again be competing and others are making preliminary arrangements. Present teams ready for training include: W.F.C.A., Woolworths, McKenzies. Codys. Hugo and Shearers, C. Smith's, Stock and Station Agents and Leecroft. A ruling was made by the committee that while teams be allowed to recruit girls from outside their own firms, if necessary, those girls must be or have been in employment. College girls will this year, therefore, be ineligible for membership in any team. It was also decided that again, if proceeds allow, a subsidy will be paid towards the cost of girls' uniforms. Entries for girls’ teams close on Wednesday, November 1 and uniforms this year may include either long trousers or skirts.
