AMERICAN SHIPS
SALE TO BRAZIL. EVIDENCE OF SOLIDARITY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day. 9.15 a.m.) CRISTOBAL. September 20. It is reliably stated that the United States has consented to the sale tc Brazil of fourteen privately-owned United States freighters. This is considered to be an expression of the desire of the United states to let action instead of words demonstrate the solidarity of the Americas at the pan-American Conference, at which the United States delegation, headed by Mr Sumner Welles, arrived today.
