INFORMATION REFUSED
ELECTRICAL WIREMEN REGISTRAR TAKES ACTION. MAGISTRATE IMPOSES FINE. Percy N. Gwynn, Registrar of the Electrical Wiremen, proceeded against Earland McKay Patterson, in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning, on a charge, at Masterton, of failihg to give to the inspector of electrical wiring any information at his disposal that might lead to the identification of the person who did electrical wiring on certain premises, the Regent Thea tre. Mr V. E. Burridge, who appeared for the Department, said it was desired tc give the case some publicity, as it should be generally known that information of this kind must be disclosed. Counsel said certain work had no! been carried owt according to the regulations and defendant would not disclose who actually did the work. Mi Burridge said the work created a danger and might have led to serious consequences. Defendant stated that some of the work had been carried out before he came to Masterton. As soon as the matter was pointed out to hirn he had instructed a local firm to rectify it. A fine of £l, with costs 10s and solicitor’s fee £2 2s was imposed.
