"You should stiffen yourself up; you do not know what cold is up here in Auckland,” said Mr F. H. Levien, S.M., in the Police Court, when a cyclist pleaded guilty to riding his machine with his hands behind his back. The defendant said it was a cold morning, and he had his hands behind his back to keep them warm. "It would be a nice slate of affairs,” said the magistrate. "if everyone who felt cold on that morning rode with hands behind the back.”
