SALVATION ARMY
AN ENJOYABLE CONCERT. A large and appreciative audience were presented with an outstanding entertainment by Mrs Church of the: Salvation Army Ladies’ Guild, and assisting artistes, in the Salvation Army Hall last evening. The function, presided over by Lieut-Colonel Macaulay, took the form of a Peace Pageant, followed by an excellent concert entertainment.
The Peace Pageant was particularly well done and various nations were ef fectively represented. Mrs Jones, secretary of the Salvation Army Ladies’ Guild, moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Church, which was carried by acclamation. Mrs Church suitably responded. The concert programme was as follows: Pianoforte duet, Mrs and Miss Betty Coleman; vocal solo, Berris Perrin; elecutionary item, Miss Coleman: vocal item, Mrs Speight; mouth-organ duet. Masters Whittaker and Mahaffie; recitation Beryl Henderson; vocal duet, Mrs Speight and Miss Jameson; Home League Kitchen Band, novelty item: piano selection, Miss B. Fairbrother.
