LIQUIDATING THE HOSPITALS. “Prevention is better than cure!” exclaimed Dr. Joan McMichael in a broadcast talk on her medical observations in Soviet Russia. "That sounds very well, but is it a financially sound proposition? And can it be put into practice? The Russians say emphatically it can, not only in the dim and distant future, but within the next few/years. A fellow Scot who was over there last year was astonished to find them building wooden hospitals. 'These won’t last twenty years, will they?’ he asked doubtfully. 'They aren’t meant to,’ was the answer. 'They will either be out of -date in 20 years, or, better still, they won’t be needed.’”
