RED CROSS FUNDS HOCKEY CLUB DANCE. ("Times-Age" Special.) The local hockey committee held a dance on Saturday night in aid of the Red Cross, when there was a very good attendance. Mr Len Daysh, Miss Grace Fraser and Mr Staples provided the music and Mr Chas Buck was M.C. The Monte Carlo was won by Mr D. Burt and Miss- Molly Tocker. GOLF CLUB STABLEFORD COMPETITION. The following were the best cards handed in for the Stableford Competition held on Saturday afternoon:— H. Lovegrove, 20-16-36: ' W. Rowles. Senr. 30-2-32; W. Fountain 27-5-32; L. Benton 18-14-32; J. Davis 18-13-31: K. Allen 24-5-29. The bogey competition held by the ladies during the week resulted as follows: —Miss J. Ruane 2 down; Mrs L. Benton 3 down: Miss M. Bloxam 4 down. The annual return match with Ti' Glen will take place nexl Sunday at Tui Glen. The bus will leave nt 8.15 a.m. (summer-time). Picture Theatre. ( Reconstruction work in connection with the Cosy Picture Theatre, which has been closed for some weeks, is '•nntinuinp.
