WEDDING
UDY—KNIBB. A wedding of interest to Wairarapa residents took place in Saint Mary’s Church, Geraldine, recently, when Mary Kathleen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs George Knibb, of Geraldine,, was married to Ngawhiro Leighton Rex, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Charles Udy, of Hukanui. The bride was attired in a charming frock of duchess satin cut on simple lines and finished with tiny self-cov-ered buttons on the sleeves and from the neck to the' watet. She wore a shoulder length veil and.carried a bouquet of freesias, hoses and maidenhair fem. Attending the bride was Miss Qona Harrington, of Hukanui, and Miss Kathleen Muff, of Christchurch. They were frocked in apple green and violet figured silk crepe cut dn lines similar to that of the bride’s and finished with gold flowers. Their bouquets were composed of mauve anemonies and maidenhair fern. - The bridegroom was attended by Mr Wilson Twentyman, of Hukanui, as best man, and Mr Harry Knibb, of Tirau, as groomsrrfan. When leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe by little Peter Webb. After the wedding a reception was held. Mrs Knibb, gowned in a navy satin ensemble, received the guests. Mrs Turpin, grandmother of the bride, was frocked in a black satin frock trimmed with old Bruges lace. The bride chose for travelling a frock of forest green, with coat, hat, shoes, gloves and handbag to match. Mr and Mrs Udy’s future home will be in Hukanui.
