INTER-HOUSE ASSOCIATION

■ ANNUAL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. GALA DAY IN NOVEMBER. At the annual general meeting of the Wairarapa Inter-House Association, held last night a successful first year’s record was claimedby the annual report. The main activity of the past year was the Sports Day, held on March 11, followed by a carnival dance. For this one day effort, the association handled the sum of £220, showing a final profit of £55 8s 6d after paying to the girls’ teams the sum of £44 Ils towards the cost, of uniforms. The thanks of the association were also due, said the report, to SergeantMajor C. E/ Rogers, for organising the marching and physical drill and to Mr D. Costello for arranging the ball games. Thanks were also extended to the “Times-Age” and to the judges from Trentham Military Camp. The report announced with regret the resignations of Mr J. Woolf, hon. secretary, and Mr A. R. Payne, hon. treasurer, both of whom have left the district. The report was presented by Mr G. Daubney, chairman of the executive committee. The chairman reported that the association had been asked to assist in the, organisation of Recreation Week and tc that end he had arranged for the leaders of various teams to meet the organising instructress for this distric next Wednesday and for the teams as a whole to meet her on Thursdaj next. While the meeting endorsed the chairman’s actions, it was resolved tc issue an instruction to the new com mittec that all requests for assistance’ from the association be carefully con sidered so as to reduce demands on the girls in the various teams. It was agreed that the next InterHouse Day be held as close as possibl to the last Saturday in November. Officers for the year were elected .- follows:—President, Mr L. B. Maunsell. vice-presidents, Messrs E. M. Hodder, H. P. Hugo. J. H. Cunningham; chairman, Mr G. Daubney; committee, Messrs D. M. Bell, R. Foster, J. Bruce, J. D. Baybutt, D. M. Reilly, J. W. Hayden and G. Ruston; hon. secretary-trea-surer, Mr D. Costello; hon. auditors Messrs Sellar and Sellar.
