WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AT KAHUTARA. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kahutara Women’s Institute was held in the Kahutara Hall on Tuesday afternoon when Mrs McKehna presided pver a fair - attendance of members. Mrs Duffy and Mrs McKenna were appointed delegates to the half-yearly council meeting to be held at Martinborough next month. The president expressed regret a’ loosing Mrs Harvey, a very consistent worker for the Institute. Mrs Rogers was elected vice-president in jilace of Mrs Harvey. A vote of sympathy was passed tc Miss Corlet in her illness. The competitions resulted as follows: Senior: Hand worked apron, Mrs Duffy i; Mrs Welch 2, Mrs Pope 3. Juniors: Cream-puff, Miss B. Warrington 1, L. Hood 2, J. Hood 3. Best bloom: Mrs M. Wilson 1, Mrs Pope 2, Mts Hood 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Potfinger, Playle, Siemonek and Rogers. BOY SCOUTS EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. At the euchre tournament held by the Boy Scouts the prizewinners were: Ladies, Miss Nix 1, Mrs Q. Rewai 2 Men, Mr Rae 1, Mr Perry 2. Personal. Mr Gervain G. McDonald,-• whose death occurred in Sydney as the result of an alleged assault, was for some time Featherston representative of the “Wairarapa Daily News.” He was a brother of the late Miss Ailsa McDonald, who was on the teaching staff of the Featherston District High School for many years, and who later me! with a fatal accident in Wellington.
