HARRIER ACTIVITIES
TEN MILES CHAMPIONSHIP. TOMORROW’? RACE. Keen public interest is being taken in the Wairarapa District 10 miles Harrier Championship, which will take place from the Masterton Park Oval tomorrow afternoon. Last year the race was won by W. McDonald (Kiatere) with Burgess (Kiatere) second. W. A. C. Pullar, Wellington Provincial champion will be running in his second 10 mile race. G. Gregory and R. N. Shaw, of the Masterton Club, are expected to do well. Kiatere will also field a strong team, and the result will be awaited with interest by patrons of both clubs. The race will start at 2.30 o'clock from the Park Oval, following along the river stop banks, over paddocks to the Te Ore Orc bridge, and after several miles detour, will return down the main highway, past the hockey grounds and over the Allen Memorial bridge to the Park Oval. The Masterton Harrier club will hold in conjunction with the race the final of the Shaw Rose Bowl. W. A. C. Pullar with 42| points leads the field, with R. N. Shaw 39 points 2, and G. Gregory 384 points, 3. A hard, gruelling race is expected.
