BRITISH TROOPS
PARTICIPATING IN COMBAT MENTIONED IN FRENCH DISPATCHES. AIRCRAFT ACTIVE ON BOTH SIDES. ' (Received This Day, 9.0 a.m.) PARIS, September 13. In their first reference to Allied support, French military dispatches this afternoon stated that a great number of well-equipped British troops are participating in combat. An official French communique states that enemy artillery continued to react during the night. Aircraft on both sides showed great activity yesterday. GERMAN ADMISSION FRENCH ABOUT THREE MILES , FROM SAARBRUCKEN. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) BERLIN, September 13. A wireless message admits that the French are about three miles from Saarbrucken. MOSELLE BRIDGE BLOWN UP BY GERMANS. ACTION ATTRIBUTED TO FEARS OF OFFENSIVE. (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) BRUSSELLS, September 13. Luxemburg reports that the Germans have destroyed the railway bridge between Metz and Trier, crossing the Moselle. This can be attributed to German fears of a French offensive in this region.
