WEDDING

WAINSCOTT—CARTER. Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, was the scene of a pretty wedding when Emily, second daughter of Mrs N. McKinnon, Parkvale, and the late Mr H. Carter, was married to George Edward, second son of Mr and Mrs Wainscott, of Masterton. The officiating minister was the Rev. John Davie. The bride who was escorted by her stepfather (Mr N. McKinnon), wore a frock of cream satin made with a pretty rucked bodice, a spray of orange blossom being worn at the heartshaped neckline. The back was finished with a row of tiny buttons. The skirt formed a lovely long oval train? The beautiful cream embroidered tulle veil, the gift of the bride’s mother, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and pearls. A shower bouquet of freesias, lilies and fern was carried.

The bridesmaid was Miss Winifred Carter, of Paeroa, sister of the bride. She wore a frock of primrose crinkle georgette. The bodice was rucked and the heart-shaped neckline was finished with a pleated frill of mauve stiffened net. The skirt was full and hooped and was trimmed with mauve net rosettes. A coronet of net and flowers was worn on her head, and she carried a posy of anemonies, artosis and freesias. She also wore a pendant (the gift of the bridegroom) to match her frock. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr A. G. Cresswell. A reception was later held at the Cosy tearooms. Mr and Mrs Wainscott left by car for the north on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a frock of teal green wool georgette with brown accessories and fox fur. Mr and Mrs G. E. Wainscott’s future home will be in Masterton.
