MANY REFUGEES
(Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) BUDAPEST. September 12. The Lwow radio declares that volunteers are preparing to defend Warsaw to the last. A Polish communique claims a stalemate, despite savage attacks by German tanks, planes and artillery.
CROSSING SOVIET BORDER. (Received This Day. 9.35 a.m.) MOSCOW September 12. It is announced that numerous Polish refugees have crossed the Soviet border.
