OFFERS OF HELP

MANY RECEIVED BY MAYOR. Offers of assistance in many different spheres of activity continue to be received by the Mayor of Masterton, Mr T. Jordan, for citizens wishing to do their “bit” for their country. The offers include several from women who are prepared to assist in some way. Mr Jordan has acknowledged the offers in every case. Mr F. J. Staniforth, taxi-driver, has offered to transport soldiers in uniform from the taxi-stand in Church Street to the station or from the station to the taxi-stand free of charge.
