MT. BRUCE
MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Mt. Bruce Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Mrs D. McLachlan, Mrs R. E. Campbell presiding. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs H. Daken in the loss of her husband. Owing to sickness, members of the St. John Ambulance were unable to attend. The competitions resulted as follows: —Hot water bottle cover: Mrs C. L. Welch, 1 and 2. Blooms: Mrs R. E. Campbell, winter rose, 1; Mrs C. J. Campbell, violet, 2. Owing to October 26 being the date of the Carterton Show, it was decided to hold the flower show a week earlier.
