MAORI CONCERT

AT MASTERTON OPERA HOUSE. A special feature of the Maori concerts to be held in the Opera House on September 13 and 14 is the huge campfire setting inside the grounds of the Meeting House. A very realistic traditional native decorative fence surrounds the meeting house and campfire. The main gates to the pa are also made in keeping with the rest of the stage effects. A rich red glow from the campfire will illuminate the features of the performers in their various items. There is no doubt that it would be a great pity to let famous Maori Pas decay and disappear. The present effort is being made to try and preserve the meeting houses for many years to come. The managements advise patrons to reserve early and not take the risk of finding the “house full” when they get to the Opera House. The box plans are at W. G. Perry’s. There is no charge for booking and no tax to pay.
