MEETING OF COUNCIL CENTENNIAL BATHS. A GRANT OF £5O. I (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Featherston County Council was held at Martinborough today. Those present were the chairman (Mr A. B. Martin) and Councillors L. J. Thompson, R. W. Matthews, J. C. Bidwill, J. A. McLeod, D. Cameron. G. J. Gillies, and Q. Donald. , , The Greytown Borough Council advised that ft had decided to erect a rest room as the local Centennial memorial. The Women’s Division had donated £2OO and had transferred portion of a section in the Main Street for the purpose of a rest room. The council decided to make a grant of £5O towards the project. ■ The Martinborough Borough Council wrote stating that their application for a Government subsidy for the Centennial memorial baths had been approved and a contribution from the Countv Council would be greatly appreciated. It was decided to make a grant of £5O. Advice was received from the Public Works Department that the Main Highways Board had completed its an nual review and that at present it was not possible to consider any general increase in the mileage of main highways. In these circumstances the Board was unable to favourably consider an application submitted by the County Council. The ranger reported having impounded 24 head of stock and having registered 11 dogs.
