Under the supervision of Mr L. H. Collinson, president of the Manawatu Racing Club, and the caretaker. Mi' W. G. Stevens, more than 100 trees have been planted on a special area at the Awapuni racecourse, set. aside, under an arrangement with the acclimatisation society, for the planting of trees to provide food for birds. The trees, gums and natives, were planted by 20 boys from the training school at Awapuni.
